The town has adapted to the needs of tourism. The port consists of new pontoons for boats and a place for the ferry services to Lanzarote and Lobos, a small island 15 minutes away by boat.

The place is surrounded by sand dunes and miles of sandy beaches that form a natural park, the Sand Dunes. On beaches exposed to the wind can be scuba diving, windsurf, kitesurf, surf and sailing sports. Other beaches are protected from the wind and are ideal for sunbathing.
